I was texting Rob Schwarz over the weekend, aka “Montana Man” and also LtCol USMC (ret)… and he mention that he lost a Marine twenty-seven years ago, so the conversation turned to LCpl Anthony Botello and the Marines of 2nd Platoon, Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment on their deployment to Mogadishu, Somalia in 1993. Rob spoke of reconnecting with the Marines of that platoon and how after all these years they still gather in Oklahoma (LCpl Botello’s home), honor their fallen brother and support each other and LCpl Botello’s family.
